I spent part of my childhood in Trimont in the late 1970’s. It’s an interesting place populated by a strong and fiercely independent people. It actually used to be two separate towns, Triumph and Monterey each about a mile apart on the same road and each founded by competitive railroaders. (The two tracks cross about a mile north of town) Even though I lived there twenty years after the two towns were merged in 1959, some folks from Triumph would still refuse to set foot in or drive to Monterey and vice-versa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trimont,_Minnesota
